New WordPress Theme: NoNa 1.0 Live

The hard working folk on the WordPress Themes team have sent me another email:

Congratulations, your new theme Nona is now available to the public at .

I still think this is one of the better things to read in my inbox.

NoNa is the direct replacement for Pinup Meets Grunge and will be carried forward as such. Here is the description from style.css:

Missing the pretty pin-up girl posing in the header, this grunge based theme originally known as Pinup Meets Grunge beautifully blends user option enabled background colors. This built-in option gives you the creative opportunity to truly make this theme your own. Do not be scared off by the dark look, try installing your own copy and playing with the background color changing option yourself. Remember, if you are not a fan of “blank” headers feel free to drop us a note and we can discuss additional options.

Although we are disappointed Pinup Meets Grunge is no longer available at WordPress.org we can only hope a grassroots campaign will spring up with everyone writing to themes@wordpress.org asking them to remove the suspended status from Pinup Meets Grunge.

Pinup Meets Grunge 1.0.2 Live

Hot on the heels of our latest update to our WordPress theme Shades is our newest free WordPress theme, Pinup Meets Grunge, which is now live at WordPress.org as of Aug 31, 2009. This is the initial release, version 1.0.2, and here is the theme’s description from the style.css file:

A pretty pin-up girl posing in the header highlights this grunge based theme and beautifully blends the user option enabled background colors. The built-in user option to change the background color gives you the creative oppurtunity to truly make this theme your own. Do not be scared off by the dark look, try installing your own copy and play with the color changing option for yourself. If you're not a fan of pinup girls feel free to drop us a note and we can discuss additional options.

Since the WordPress Extend Theme repository only allows for one “screenshot” we opted to go with the default black, but in order to help visualize the other possibilities of a user defined option that changes the theme’s background color we are including some additional screenshots in this post. You might also notice the very extensive area available for longer titles and very long descriptions.

Ground Floor 1.0.3

Our latest theme, Ground Floor (version 1.0.3) is now live at WordPress.org!

Just like the message reads:

Congratulations, your new theme Ground Floor is now available to the public at <http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/ground-floor>.

Of course, Ground Floor will now be featured here since it is our most recently updated theme.

We look forward to continued design, implementation, and administration of our themes. We also hope to see many people choosing to enjoy these themes as much as we enjoy creating, updating, and maintaining them.

WordPress Theme: Shades

We recently published our latest theme (now being featured here as of Jun 26, 2009), Shades. It is freely available from the theme repository at WordPress.org. Here is the direct link: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/shades.

We will be featuring our themes on this site as they are published and/or updated. If we publish a new theme, we will change our active theme to the newly published one. If we update an existing theme, we will change our active theme to the newest version of the updated theme. For the most part we will be using the exact same version of the theme that you can download yourself directly from WordPress.org’s Extend section for Themes. Feel free to make use of these themes as you wish.

A simple clean theme framework to work from, designed ideally for light colored backgrounds and easily adapted to darker layouts.

Desk Mess Mirrored Updated

Desk Mess Mirrored has been updated to version 1.0.5 and is now live at WordPress.org!

Additional functionality has been added with this version. The new functionality can be found in the added author page that allows for multiple contributors to have their own styled page displaying their posts matching the existing user specific comment styles.

WordPress Theme: Desk Mess Mirrored

We are now featuring our newest theme, Desk Mess Mirrored, which we activated May 30, 2009. This theme is a re-work and update of the Desk Mess theme version 1.4 by geekwithlaptop.com we were using before. We have adjusted some of the general layout of the theme. The header graphics were entirely re-designed and created by our graphics people. The underlying code was reviewed and updated to the current standards (WordPress version 2.7 as of this writing). We have also corrected a few minor issues and extended the widgetized sidebar to include an upper half and a lower half.

We will be releasing this theme to the general public in the near future.
