Shades 1.6 Live

The latest version of the free WordPress Theme Shades went live a few days ago. The version number is 1.6 and implemented many updates to its core functions and features. Here is the latest changelog entry:

As per our usual fashion it will be the featured (read: in use) theme at DbJB until the next BuyNowShop theme is updated, released, and available at the WordPress Extend Themes repository.

Shades 1.3.1 Live

After putting the update for Shades version 1.3 on the WordPress Extend Themes repository I noticed a few items that needed to be addressed … mostly CSS related plus a few other minor additions. Here is the recent changes from the changelog.txt file:

The latest version of the free WordPress theme Shades is now live at WordPress.org having been approved today Nov 24, 2009.

New Desk Mess Mirrored and Shades Theme Versions Go Live

I just received word, or more correctly read my emails and found the announcements that the recent theme updates to Desk Mess Mirrored and Shades have been approved at WordPress.org. The latest versions of both themes are now live and ready to be downloaded, or updated, as the case may be.

In this latest version of Shades, the major update was to the comments part of the theme. Shades version 1.2 now fully supports threaded comments. Also in this release, support for sticky posts was added.

The latest version (1.4.1) of Desk Mess Mirrored had support for sticky posts added, too.

Shades 1.1 Live

It was a productive weekend, amongst many things the free WordPress.org theme Shades was was updated to version 1.1 and is now available for download from WordPress Extend Themes.

Also, we finished a new theme, Pinup Meets Grunge; and, are now awaiting its approval. We are quite interested to see how this latest theme will be accepted by the general public, more so for the effect of being able to change the background color and really give the theme a different look. Stop by our main site and have a read of this post to see some sample looks.

WordPress Themes Update

We have been working on all of our themes both new and existing and find that an update is in order.

First off, Desk Mess Mirrored is now at version 1.2 and also includes a child theme Multi. We made sure to include easy to follow step-by-step instructions so you can quickly put the Multi child theme to use at your earliest convenience.

The Shades theme is currently at version 1.0.3.2 and with its next update (within the next 7-10 days) it will also include one of its child themes, Shades of Darkness.

Our newest theme, and the one currently being featured here is Ground Floor. We hope to see it live at WordPress.org in the next couple of days. Although there is no child theme currently included with the Ground Floor theme we are currently working on ideas for one.

Shades 1.0.2 Live

The latest version of our WordPress theme Shades is 1.0.2 and is now live at WordPress.org.

If you have already installed Shades then you can simply use the automatic upgrade to go to the newest version. We actually upgraded the active version of Shades here at Design by JellyBeen in that exact manner.

Please feel free to leave us a comment about Shades, and how you are adapting it to your own styling. We would love to see it put through its paces.

We recently published our latest theme (now being featured here as of Jun 26, 2009), Shades. It is freely available from the theme repository at WordPress.org. Here is the direct link: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/shades.

We will be featuring our themes on this site as they are published and/or updated. If we publish a new theme, we will change our active theme to the newly published one. If we update an existing theme, we will change our active theme to the newest version of the updated theme. For the most part we will be using the exact same version of the theme that you can download yourself directly from WordPress.org’s Extend section for Themes. Feel free to make use of these themes as you wish.

A simple clean theme framework to work from, designed ideally for light colored backgrounds and easily adapted to darker layouts.
